A wonderful, inspiring and quite frankly unbelievable afternoon for Team Pebbles today as Bridgit was invited to attend afternoon tea at The House of Commons to kickstart celebrations for this year’s TES School Awards, of which we have been shortlisted for Early Years Setting of The Year, for the second year running.
We are completely overwhelmed to be shortlisted for this award for the second year, and even more so to attend events such as this with such incredible teachers, professionals and figures in education from across the country.
Bridgit, along with our trustee mascot, Holiday Monster attended the lavish event and enjoyed an afternoon of networking, cake and inspiring and thought-provoking speeches from MP’s and TES Editor Ann Mroz.
Bridgit was even lucky enough to spend some time chatting to Ann Mroz and grabbed a quick selfie with Holiday Monster getting in on the action too!
For us, events like this are incredibly humbling as we are essentially just two childminders from Worthing, doing the best we can to provide an inviting, nurturing and educational, home-from-home environment for the children we care for, and to be recognised nationally for an award so prestigious truly is overwhelming.
Once again, the only childminding setting to be shortlisted for this award, we are inspired and motivated to continue to fly the flag for the childminding community and promote the incredible effort, passion and drive, us and other childminders like us do, not only within our locality but across the country too.
We hope our story, our mission and our aim to raise the profile of home-based childcare as a viable career and childcare option, allows childminders to be recognised as the hardworking and passionate Early Years professionals that they are.
